Missing starfish

Hi, I bought from the internet, additions to my CUC which was a common orange starfish and an Arrow head crab. The crab is fine but the star fish which was quite large vanished from day one which was approx 1 month ago. I have 2 sand shifting starfish also and see them all the time.
Will it pollute my tank if it has died some where. I am checking my water regularly and everything is normal.

I would think the odds are not good. If you have alot of LR it could still be in there. When you put him in the tank you did not expose him to air did you?

I have a lot of LR and I didn't expose it to air either. I don't give much hope either.
