My nem's mouths are open

My bta mouths are open and theres this brown slim and balls of crap coming from him are they dying ...I know the mouth has a dual purpose but its in access and thier deflatedand my tank is very young+lights are sub par but my Condys are doing fine...my new affordable sub par lights are in transit

That's it exactly. Crap. It's not dying, just taking a poo. Should inflate back once it's done. Give it an hour or so.

This is day 3 I've removed them from their rocks put then in a basket hung on the tank so they can't get max light available

Removing them from their rock is a horrible idea... You can really injure its foot and stress it out. If nems are unhappy they will move on their own to somewhere they are more happy.

And what carried said is right, sounds like it was just expelling waste. My BTA goes from about 12 inches to maybe 2 inches.
