Need help with Niger trigger

I was given another trigger fish today he is a Niger trigger he's just sitting on bottom of tank and doing nothing. He has no visible signs of sickness. I just want to know what is needed to get him back to normal.

What are your water parameters? He might just be stressed if u just got him. Give him a couple of days if not than he might be sick.

He was like this when he was in my friends tank so this is why he gave it to me.

I would have steered well clear of that fish if it was acting suspiciously. If the fish has a disease you are opening yourself to contaminating your entire tank.

How is the Trigger acting now?

He is still acting the same. I'm setting up a sick tank tonight

It would be wise to QT the fish. Just make sure he has a big enough tank and your filtration is adequate. If you're setting up a new tank you need to prepare for a cycle so be careful!

I have a 25 gallon tank doing nothing. I have hob filters that I will have to use for the mean time.
