My nem split into 2. is that a good thing or a bad thing? What do I do now?

Anemones can split like that as a means of reproduction. Not neccessarily a good or bad thing. Some times they split for good reasons and sometimes because they are stressed. I would check your water parameters and post up what kind of lights you have over the tank.

I have the Current Sunpod 1163. Its 2x250W MH . total wattage is 500

That is plenty of light. Sometimes they will split if there is not enough light but that shouldn't be a problem. As long as your water tests look good and the anemone looks healthy and happy to you i wouldn't worry about it.
