When did you get them? Where are they placed in the tank? Flow? Lighting?

I'm no expert but they don't look too healthy.

Well I did figure out what it was, it's an isopod parasite. Did some fancy bait & netting to get him out of my 90. And did a little bit of shrimp surgery and he's now in recovery

Here he is in my rye glass, I guess I have to find a bigger cup. The white mass is the parasite.

How long should I leave him in qt for? How long can he survive in there?

I've upgraded him from about a half a cup to a gallon.

The rye glass was way more important than the juice jug

I just got them that day but today they look like this.

They don't look good IMO there's some "stuff" on them almost looks like Coraline algae. Were they nice and open when you picked them out?

Here's why healthy zoas are supposed to look like. Maybe they just need some time, mine opened up within a day. But they looked liked the picture below when I picked them up.

These are mine, about 4 months now

+1.. Idk what it is about them but they definetly look less then healthy. My guess would be either lighting or salinity.

How can I get the algae off and my salinity is 1.026 and they are right at the top of my tank.

What kind of lights are running and what is the flow like where they are. Salinity is good IMO. Not sure about the algae though... Sorry

Agree rye glass is definatly more important. Glad to hear you got rid of that parasite. Never seen one of those on the forum. I would have been two afraid to perform the surgery. :)

I have a 55g with a 48"-60" led lights and should I point my power head at the zoas because it is right next to it but is not pointing at it.

Zoas don't need massive amounts of flow so I wouldn't point the pump at them. Sps is really the only type of coral that you want that kinda flow directly in it but the lights, they aren't the marineland single or double brights are they?

I do not think it is the lights because one of the sides is doing just fine.

The marineland fixtures claim to be "reef lights" but imo they aren't good for anything but fowlr tanks. This may or may not be the issue but they definitely are not helping the situation. You're gonna wanna look into a new light if you wanna continue building a reef tank.

Hey look a fellow Canadian. Yet one from my own province. You don't happen to be near Ottawa ?? I would love to trade some frags with you
