Hey, i was going to paint my room, and i have a 29 gall aquarium, reef tank, and it has a hood lighting. No cover. I was wondering if the paint fumes would toxicate my tank. Should i just cover the top with something? or what should i do.

I just painted my fish room. I used a latex semi-gloss and it had no effect on my tanks. I only covered them when I was painting the ceiling.

Definitely wouldn't hurt to prevent any splash from getting in, but those low fumes are not toxic. Oil paint on the other hand is nasty, I would be careful if your using it, it makes people sick.

its not going to be oil paint, i kno that. so just cover the tank witha towel or sumthin?
