Performing surgery on a tile starfish.

I noticed that my tile starfish has what looks like a large chunk taken out of its side. Possibly a powerhead could have done this or a pissed off fish I'm not sure. Anyways, is it possible to amputate a starfishes limbs? I was thinking of just letting it take its time and leaving the arm to the hermits and what not if it dies off.

I would let it be, just make sure it doesn't get infected, starfish limbs grow back!

Really? What if its intestine system fall out? I saw this really gross orange linkia at a lfs that was missing 2 limbs and its intestine was falling out of its mouth.
