Porcupine puffer at LFS

So for about a year now, I look at porcupine puffers each time I go to the fish store. I love watching them and wish I had the tank size to own one. But this one looks like it isn't cared for very well and I almost think he would be better in my 45 gal tank. Here are the pictures I took:::::

As you can tell he's missing he right eye. It scarred over but they say he can still see out of his left. This makes me so mad to think they neglected his care to let him get like this. I think this puffer has been in his shop for 5-6 months now.

He will be fine in a 45 gal better then him dying in the lfs no ones buying a 1 eye Willie fish !!!! I love them but they are not reef safe or I would have 1

I know! I have to wait for my tank to cycle before i decide if I can get him. I would hate to get him and he doesn't live long because of his living requirements :-(

The pics seems like the eye is clouded over, which would be an easy cure. You have a better view, so if its really missing an eye then its missing an eye.

My LFS feeds them goldfish, which causes kidney problems for them. I really want to get him out too, but I'd rather leave them at the LFS than bringing one home to an inadequate tank. You're doing a good thing by getting that puff out, but keeping one inside a small tank would prolong the suffering. Upgrade if possible.

The one eye is def cloudy but the other one is completely gone :-(

I currently can't upgrade to a bigger tank for at least a year maybe more so I don't think I'll get him... Still makes me sad tho
