Hi guys has anybody had any experience with losing power? How long will the fish and corals last without power? I live in Long Island and we are about to get nailed in this snow storm. I'm trying to get a generator but if I don't I just want to know what time frame the tank could go without heat and pumps. Tank is about a month old.

I hear it varies, I have tried to research this too when my power went out last year, it was for about 4 hours. I have the opposite problem to you as I live in Australia so I battle with the heat! I have heard people wrapping the tank in a blanket or (tin foil? I might be making that up) to keep the heat in. I also read it is very important to keep the water moving so every ten mins I would scoop some water and pour it back in multiple times to keep the water oxygenated. Hope that helps and hope its not too bad!
