Puffer fish is spinning. any ideas???
Basically I have a very large spiny puffer and he all of a sudden will just float around and spining (clockwise only), letting the current take him into the wall. He will come out of it for a few seconds then resumes, it seems as though he has an equilibrium problem. All the other fish are fine.
I have a 600gallon salt water tank, with 2 puffers, one lion fish, undulated trigger, passafor angel, orange dot rabbitfish, blue tang, flame angel, butterfly fish, and a few damsels that survived my lionfish. |

Spinning could be a result of swim bladder problem.
Try feeding a thawed and deshelled green pea which can help clear any blockages. I'm not sure if your puffer would go for that, but it's worth a try. Other than that you could try fastng the fish for a few days in QT.

I`ve heard that excellent water conditions will help also. I`ll see if I have anything on it when I get home from work. All my info is there.
