Hi I've had a bad experience with marine itch and lost my livestock I've ran my tank with inverts fish free now for aprox 5 week and am looking to start buying new fish ready to put back in main tank! I don't want to introduce ws again a was told best way to make sure is to treat all new fish with coper in qt tank ? Is this the case or just leave them treatment free unless they show signs ?

You should put any new fish in a seperate qt tank and observe them for at least 10-14 days. If they are carrying ich it will show up in that time frame and you can then treat them. I would not treat a fish for anything if it didn't show any signs.
Being you just had, as you said "a bad experience with marine itch and lost my livestock", why you would want to risk that all over again by not putting your fish in qt before putting them in the main tank.
