QT tank Am levels????

My QT tank with the 2 spott bristlletooth hit .50 Am this afternoon. I did a 25% water change and have water mixed for 50% more. Nitrates 0.00 with AP test kit. Nitrites same. No meds in the tank. I placed an Amonia reducing PuraPad in the HOB filter with the simple particulate filter and fully cycled biowheel. tang is swimming and eating. I topped off my 30 gal RO tank to be prepared. I will test Am again in an hour. Am I proceeding correctly??

Thats' what i would do in your shoes. Just gotta get that ammonia down and youre good. A water change can never hurt anything, even an extra one. lol

Update:

Did another 25% water change. That is 50% in last 2 hours. Will test amonia again in an hour. Have another 50% water change mixed.
