For a quarantine, is it okay to have a bare bottom? And When I get my first fish, before any others are in the tank, do I qt it? I would assume so, in case it has Ich, etc, so I wouldn't have to treat the whole big tank. Is this correct?

Most people have bare bottoms in their quarantine tanks. And it us always a good idea to quarantine new arrivals if you have one.

If you can, quarantining all the new fish is ideal. Just to be on the safe side.
