Sabea Reassurance

So i got a Sabea anemone for by biocube 29 about 3 months ago. I was a bit worried about the lights but after about two dies of crawling around he settled down and found a spot. Move on about 3 months and hes gotten darker brown and isn't as bleached/spread out as he was (which i heard was good cause that means the algae is growing and he's not to hungary if hes not all spread out). The catch is that my mother had bought me this anemone and keeps yelling at me that its dieing, its littler ect ect. He fallows and looks like exactly what they say he should on other sites, im primarly posting this to get a definite answer so she will quit pestering me about it about it or if i should take action.

This is a before and after (before being the blue one and the after being the one with hair algae everywhere). You caught me in the middle of moving fish and rock work so he's probably not to happy at the moment
