Hope he shows up I thought it was an overflow, not a closed loop I shouldn’t have assumed it was an overflow. Pulling 8000 gph through those little holes I’m sure it’s zipping right through I’m good at math but wouldn’t even want to attempt to calculate the sq inches of each little hole in that pipe LOL.

Most of the tangs at my lfs go for less than $15 but I understand your frustration. At least it wasn’t a $50+ fish.

Also glad to see you updated your photo gallery

If your lfs is selling sailfins for less than $15 tell me how to get there. Virginia is not that far away. Well the day is almost over and I have not seen anything of him. I makes me very frustrated to have a fish in QT for weeks and intro him to your tank only for it to be gone in two days. I thought it was going to make it. He had started eating. This is the first death I have had in my main. Man I hate QTing fish. Back to the drawing board.

Sorry you lost him, QT is a necessary evil that as you know if not done can lead to bigger troubles down the road Maybe there is a way to put a screen around the intake to keep fish from wandering to close.

I’m very fortunate to live near http://www.animaljungle.com/ I’ve been getting all my fish/supplies there for over 10 years and they have a HUGE selection of everything for really reasonable prices. The owner personally goes down to Florida to get the fish each month. They have about 6 large sharks they feed for the public also. Checkout their specials to see a small sample of what they sell.

They moved into an old grocery store 5 years ago and have 30,000 gal of water in their tanks! The address is in the about us link (maps at bottom) and well worth the trip!

Sorry about your loss,Brenden. But to those that have a sailfin tang that is a finicky eater try grape Calerpa. Mine would not eat anything till I put that in my tank. Now I grow it in my refuge. Again sorry brenden , I always enjoy your posts.
