Hey,

I have a scarlet Cleaner shrimp, and I'm aware that they tend to clean things. Just last night, after having him for 8 months, he began to actually get on my fish (one spot foxface and tomini tang) to clean them. Should I take this as a possible sign that my fish have parasites?

Besides cleaning parasites, Cleaner Shrimp also work like dental floss to get rid of bits of food that get stuck in the teeth, back scratchers for that itch they just can't scratch and louffa (?) sponges to get rid of dead skin. They are an all around good place to visit for the fish. ;)

Hope this helps (y)

Not at all. I put my hands in and my peppermint shrimp give me a manicure and last I checked I don't have any parasites. :)
