Our aquarium is a 55-gallon, set up about eight weeks ago. We have two yellow-tailed damsels and two clown fish, purchased at the same time, three to four weeks ago. They have all seemed very healthy, however, over the last few days one clown has been hovering in a small alcove in a fake formation and has not been eating; today it is sitting on the bottom of the tank, occasionally "jumping up", swishing its tail in the sand and is pale in color. Please help, we are new to this hobby and have no idea what could be wrong. It has no "spots" of any kind on it and everyone else in the aquarium is acting normally.

Welcome to AquariumAdvice.com :)

The conditions of the fish don't necessarily suggest the presence of a prasitic problem without more detail but could be from environmental concerns. Being a new tank, the water specs could be askew. Please post the water parameters including NH3, NO2, NO3, pH, temp and salinity.

If there is anything other than loss of appetite and color please post that as well.

Cheers
Steve
