Sick coral or not?

I got a giant cup mushroom coral about three weeks ago and at night it shrivels up, really weird looking, my brother thinks its gross. Is this normal, he then spreads out during the day though. Should I be giving him any liquid food. [acronym:7bce8c3472="By the way"]BTW[/acronym:7bce8c3472], this is my first coral, so Im not used to them!

I don't target feed my corals. They get nutrients when I feed the rest of the fish

Its normal for them to shrink at night. My Green Hairy's shrink to about a 1/4 of the regular size. Large mushrooms like these should receive meaty feedings a couple of times a week. Mine love Mysis, its so cool to watch them engulf! They will also grow much faster if you target feed. Use a Turkey Baster.
