sick urchin?

My black long spined urchin doesnt' look like its happy. The spines are looking like they have bands of faded out color, and I noticed a spine laying on the substrate.

What's wrong with my little guy??? Any ideas???

As soon as I get home tonight I'll do a check on water conditions and post them here.

How long have you had him? Also do you target feed him?
My Black Urchin looses a spine once is a while, no big deal. Are the rest of the spines rigid or are the starting to lay down?

I've had him since the beginning of May. The LFS store said that he would graze on the algae on my live rock and glass. Was I too trusting in their info? What would be the best way to target feed him?
The rest of his spines look rigid and he has been quite active. I watched him go the lenght of the glass last night and he was movin' this morning too. Very active little bugger.
Any info is appreciated.

He may be Ok, but I target feed mine twice a week with a little sheet of Nori. He chows it with gusto. You may want to give it a try.
