skimmer?

Hi guys. I have a quick question. During Copper treatment in Hospital Tank do you guys run skimmer? I have a HOB filter and run summer at least will aerate water, right? It is not much about skimming, probably with copper skimmer will go crazy anyway but just as a air stone to aerate water... Let me know, please. Thanks for future advices.

in my QT I just have a mini filter.... ive done copper treatment in there a few times and never had a problem
