Too Late for my Grouper

Well I've had my panther grouper in my tank for about a month and a half, and I have NEVER seen him eat. I've tried feeding him everything EXCEPT feeders. I was told not to feed freshwater fish, and now I wish I had tried to. I got up today to see him stuck to the powerhead intake, I shut it off and he floated to the bottom. He is still alive but BARELY. Well, I don't know what was wrong with him but my advice to everyone is to make sure you watch your fish eat before getting him from the LFS.

Sound advice no matter what species of fish, I'm sorry for your loss.
