Treated tap for hospital tanks?

I am aware that everyone should make an effort to use ro/di water for display tanks and to avoid algae blooms. But what if you're trying to have a fish recover from ich? Is it ok to use treated tap water and then mix with salt?

you really don't want to use tap on anything saltwater as you don't know what all is in the tap water there are lots of bad minerals in tap that a additive to treat tap wont remove

Oops, meant in a hospital tank. Since it would only be temporary.
