tunicate splitting or dying?

hi guys. ok my tunicate used to be ugly and brown and bumpy, but recently its turning purple and seems to be taking a different shape, is it splitting into two or did my condy sting it one too many times? heres a pic of before and now, the after picture is first, and the before is on the bottom...

i know! i hope its splitting! THere hasn't been a amonia spike, so its not dead yet.
