Urchins killing snails

Has anyone else encountered their urchins killing snails? I have a pushpin urchin and a black spiny black urchin. Yesterday when I came home from work, both urchins were sharing a snail. I was not aware that these guys can eat snails. Now I am not sure if the snail was already dead and they just ate him, or if they killed him and ate him.

Anyone have any similar experiences?

It is much more likely that the snail died and they were doing their cleanup jobs.

Cool.

so its ok to leave any dead snails for treats to my urchins...or should they be removed because they can cause water problems?
