I added a piece of live rock with some clove polyps and alot of zoas and today my urchin just sat on it for 4-5 hours. Judt looked at the tank and the urchin had a bunch of the polyps pryed off the rock and on his back :( could they just have been dead? Some more are still hanging off of the rock by a thread.

Urchins just do that, mine has zoas and clove polyps on its back. It is kin of just an inevitable part of having a tuxedo urchin.

Will they survive? They look dead to me :( should i take them off? Wouldnt there be an ammonia spike

Good thing i came across this thread. I was literally planning on getting a tux in a week or two and I have a lot of money worth of zoa/palys in my tank. Dont really wanna take the risk if it will pry my palys off of the rocks.
