What happened to my plate coral?

Hello Experts!

This is the second coral I am losing in my aquarium. Both of them were fine for the first 5-7 days then they fell apart. Attached is thepicture of what I saw today. Friday it looked fine.

any ideas?

You really need to post all your water readings and tell us more about your tank. How old? What else is in there? Filtration method?

Looks to me like it's sitting on a rock? They don't like that. They should be placed on the sandbed so that their tissue isn't damaged as it expands.

And by chance have they been moved at all? I moved a few plates, actually further away from direct light and they went south within a few days. Took several weeks to really come back to normal.
