What is on my straw pseudo?

I am not sure what it is. It looks almost like he rubbed up against a rock to hard and scratched himself. It is a slight white discoloration below his top fin.

Was he possibly attacked? (Although I doubt it, those can be some mean little buggers.)

Is the white stuff hanging off his body?

No, it just looks like he rubbed up against something. I put a little extra garlic with his meal today to maybe fend off any disease.
