White spots on tank

My 15 gallon has a bunch of white little spots that move around. Some kind of creature that I'm not sure of. What is it and how do I get rid of it? Sometimes the fish itch themselves against the sand but I don't see any white spots on them.

Those are what we call pods. Small creatures that come in lr or ls. Most are harmless, in fact usually a sign of good things happening.
As for the fish scratchiing, keep an eye on them. When they scratch, something is bothering them, possibly a parasite.

The white spots on my tank walls turned out to be very small snails.
