white "stuff " along dorsal fin

Hi all, I have a racoon butterfly fish - about 4 weeks. He's active and eats great. Along the dorsal fun is a thin white line. I'm not sure of it is "gunk" - the name escapes me - usually harmless and eventually falls off. Or ammonia burn - I was due a water change. Or something else....I've only noticed it a few days ago.

Hard to tell by the pics, but if they are raised lumps it could be lymphocystis. That is cured by improving your water quality by doing more frequent partial water changes.

Yes they do appear to be raised lumps, however slight. Weekly on the partial @ 20 % ? Right now I do a 20 % partial every two weeks. I'm a newbie so I appreciate the advice! Thanks...BTW will my cleaner shrimp pick them off?

20% weekly is fine, or 10% every 3-4 days if possible. The more often you can do them the better it is.
The cleaner shrimp may pick at them but probably won't do much to help it go away. It's a viral infection.
