Wound on Hippo

My Hippo has a circle wound on his black lateral line. He also goes to the cleaner shrimp often and rubs it against the rocks. Is this HLLE? , fungal, bacterial, parasite? I am not sure how to treat him cause I don't know what it is. TIA.

Is there anyway you could get a close up of that? It looks like in the vicinity of HLLE but I just cant see it to good. Read this for treatment when you find out for sure.

I tried taking some more pix today, its very hard to get a good closeup as he dosn't like the camera and won't smile for me . Hope these are a little better. The cleaner shrimp cleaned it so deep it looks raw to me. He is swimming and eating fine. Thanks.

That`s a pretty nasty hole. I have two concerns. one is how he got it and two is secondary infection from that wound. Read the one that says bacterial infection. Open sores

I agree, that is pretty nasty, how long has he had it? I would start soaking your food in garlic extreme, to help his immune system. Can you QT him, to give him a peaceful place?
