See the left hand side how 3 of them are totally closed.... I have had this about a month and the first couple days they were all open... .now all of them remain open - and look very healthy - EXCEPT for the few on the left hand side. Any suggestions? Parameters all seem good

Ammonia 0
Calcium 340
SG 1.024
phos- 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5-10

Also, is it ok that I leave this piece just in the sand? I don't want to mix it with the rock work because I heard they will take over...

Do you feed them? They should be fed some type of zooplankton-type food: minced/blenderized krill, mysis, shrimp, marine fish, cyclop-eeze, roe, etc.

I haven't fed them because consensus was that most people don't feed them.... however I did buy some mysis/brine mix today and will start to feed them maybe once a week and see how that goes.

Do you really think that is what is going on? Because the rest of the polyps look fantastic.
