Freshwater , low maintanence , there will be silk plants. my grandmother wants one so i just want to get her something. simple. The tank is taller than long . Thanks

Do you mean standard tall or like a hexagon tall tank?Male only guppies would work. A single betta would work in a standard tank. I find the females have more personality than the males but have shorter fins.
Endler livebearers are small enough for you to breed in there. Ember tetras are cool if you wanted something that schooled.
