55 gal with ick

My dad has a 55 gal I noticed dead fish tool it out them saw ick on one fish pretty progressed and a few others had a spot or two of it I bought API super ick treatment mixed 5 1/2 packets of it in bucket of prime treated water an added it to tank after removing his stone things and carbon only left in filter sponge and turned heat up to 83 %F
He got ick from new fis I believe since the if with most progressed ick is one of the new ones . He got them 2 days ago

Turn the heat up to 86 and add 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5g of water

Yes it is and its the best way

He already had salt I. Tank used super ick turned up tank to 85 it cleared after 1st treatment and its still gone after second

Here is a really cool link that I found the first the first time I had ick. It shows how to treat it with heat alone. I usually use heat and meds.

That's great.
I would keep the temperature up for a few more days. There could still be some in the polyp and free swimming stage.

He is its been 3 days since the second dose of treatment. The ick cleared up after the first dose . The treatment started Thursday afternoon
