What is s good way to keep the ammonia down in my tank til it cycles o was a idiot and didnt do it first and i find myself doing 50% water changes just to keep it under control

Water change, water change, water change. Failing that you can rehome some fish to make it more manageable. Fast growing stem plant such as elodea and hornwort can help also.
