Betta cant eat

Hey guys I have a concern about my betta, the last two days it hasn't been able to open it's mouth enough to eat the pellets that I usually feed it and I noticed a bump under it's gills that I don't remember being there. I've tried crushing the pellets but he doesn't seem interested in that so right now he's just not eating does anybody know what could be causing this?

I really hope it's something that can be fixed he's only a couple months old :/

Sad to say he didn't make it, but if anybody can answer I would still like to know what the problem was

He certainly doesn't look too healthy in that photo, it might just be his colour, but he doesn't look good. I'm no expert, just my opinion.
