betta with finrot, amm reading at 0.25

so my new betta that i've had for about 1 month now had developed some fin rot (or fin-tear..at the end, it looks the it's been shredded a bit).

his water params are:

5gal
amm - 0.25
nitrit - 0
nitrate - 5ppm

i've done water changes, but it never gets below 0.25. my other betta, who's in a 10 gal, has 0,0 and 5ppm. so i know it's not my eyes or test kit. do i just keep doing multiple pwc's daily until it gets to 0?

I would just continue to do water changes like you are doing, good luck!

Perhaps you should consider doing a larger water change, up to and including all of it.

Don't do less than 50%. And do them daily until you hit 0.

thanks...i also have been putting api salt..

i'll continue with minimum 50% pwcs.
