Just wondering what my Betta might have. I noticed what looks like sores or maybe ulcers. A few days ago he developed a white spot in his eye. I found some Pimafix but since I don’t know what he has I don’t want to use the wrong medication. All of the other fish seem fine. Also If I do have to treat do I need to remove the ghost shrimp?

Thanks.

I usually keep him between 76-79 degrees. The only problem I noticed after testing was the nitrate level was a little bit high. So I changed half of the water in his five gallon tank.

With open sores and from what I could see from enlarging the photos, your bettas condition looks like a Hexamita infection. The medication I recommend is Melafix and from the photos I've seen, I recommend treatment asap. Good luck.
