So I have a male gold ram who is of questionable health. I noticed today that he seems rather chubby, not distended or bloated, just rounder than usual. I've been keeping a close eye on him, and he is breathing more rapidly than his companions, and he looks uncomfortable. I am currently heat-treating a case of ich that may or may not have come in on a female gold ram I have with them. Could this be a side effect of that? Is it something else? I have a 10 gallon on stand by for a QT tank if need be. I performed a 25/30% water change today. It's a 29 gallon. Other than three rams the only other occupants are shrimp, a crayfish, and a large pleco. Any advice?

Does it have the pineconing of the scales?

Yes. Slightly, but between about 1pm when I noticed it until about two hours ago it had gotten progressively more noticeable, and not too long ago while I was trying to take decent photos I noticed his scales beginning to protrude.
