Cotton Mouth

Can anyone tell me anything about cotton mouth? My Danio and red-eyed tetra both have this spot on their bottom 'lip'. They eat and do not seem to have any other troubles.

This is probably columnaris and you will need something like Kanacyn to treat it if it has gotten bad. It can be tricky to get rid of, but I have eliminated it in very early stages with Melafix and Pimafix, treating for about a week or 10 days.

Thanks so much Tank Girl. I've just done a search on columnaris and have found a plethora of info on it. I believe you are right.
