crab scuffle

i have two red clawed crabs. a male and female. the male never coems out and hides in a log and the female usualy goes around the tank some. my question is, the other day i saw a leg laying in the log, and i figured it was a half eaten molt. then later i noticed my female was missing a leg! i think they got ina scuffle. is there anything i can do to prevent this? and anything i shud do so she stays healthy?
