Hello. One of my danios appears to be ready to explode. She (I think she) has been large for months but may have grown slowly more distended over time. The other fish and danios are of expected size and appearance. This one continues to swim and eat normally without any obvious signs of distress. Earlier on, I put her in a breeder box and a few weeks later in an isolation tank. She’s been fed cooked peas on occasion, but I haven’t seen any change. Her back is smooth but her abdomen looks like there are bumps beneath her skin. I hope the photos are helpful.
Thank you.

Looks full of parasites or worms. I'm not 100% sure on how long it takes danios to give birth but discoloration of the skin like that doesn't seem to me to be from pregnancy.

Thank you, King Fisher. I’m quite certain your assessment is correct.

Sadly my little danio passed. It turns out that the distended abdomen was not caused by parasites but was a huge tumor. I’m not sure it’s appropriate to post photos of the necropsy and so I have not.
