Hi all

I just looked in my tank and one of my Danios is lying dead on the bottom?
It's definitely dead, and it looks like it's fins and scales have been chewed off?
Other fish seem to be occasionally pecking it, but I presume that's normal?

Is it just an unexplained death?
Aeration in tank is as normal, parameters seem to be fine

Please reply! All advice and info is appreciated :thanks:

Yes it is normal for tankmates to eat dead comrades. There is no love in the fish world. Unless you noticed any sign of disease, a bullying situation or bad water conditions, this fatality might fall under the category of "unexplained death". On the bright side, this gives you an opportunity to replace the deceased fish with an even cooler one. Sorry for your loss.
