I just got a mystery snail two days ago and I put him on a rock in the tank after acclimating. He wasn't moving around in the bag, or the tank. But I think a little baby snail popped out of it or something because a little snail appeared in the bag a few minutes later. The fish keep tipping him over and he just sits on his back sometimes. Some weird white stuff started coming out of him today. What does this mean?

Pick him up and smell him. If it smells bad, he's dead.

As for the little snail, I assume it was just attached to the big snail. Mystery snails need male and female to have baby snails, and the female lays eggs.

I smelled him, he smells kind of like garbage. How bad do dead snails usually smell?

If he smells like garbage, then he's dead. I smelled my snail today because he looked kinda dead, and he had basically no odor. He's still alive.

Okay, I guess I'll take him back to the store, Thanks so much!
