I recently noticed that my betta has a bulged stomach. I can’t really tell if the scales are raised out or not, but other than that he’s perfect. I’m really worried. Is there anything I could do in the meantime?IMG_0779.jpgIMG_0780.jpg

Skip a feeding. He looks like he's getting a little bloated. Most the time if scales are lefted they won't swim much. You can shine a light on him to tell for sure.

When I shined a light, it looked pretty flat. I’ll take it as a good sign! Thank you so much!!

Dropsy is one of the last symptoms of an intestinal bacterial infection, or extreme constipation. As long as your Betta is eating and swimming normally, I'd say your Betta is suffering from a good appetite. :)

You'll know raised scales when you see them. It's just easier to tell by shining a light on a darker colored betta. He's ok. He'll have a good poop tonight. Lol!
