Greetings.

It's been a while since I've had issues with any of my fish, but I noticed this last night and thought I would post about it. I'm fairly certain I've seen this developing on my Dwarf Gourami for a while, but apparently it's gotten pretty bad. It's a spherical growth of what appears to be tissue around his mouth. It almost looks like a tumor. The growth is the same color as the fish. There are no white spots and it does not have any fungal-like appearance. Please see the photo below (sorry for the poor quality):

I purchased some Melafix last night hoping it would resolve the issue, but I'm doubtful, as I believe this might be an incurable condition with the fish itself. He seems to be swimming around and eating just fine, but it appears as though he really has to work with his mouth while using it.

Any suggestions or insights here? Do you think he's suffering? Any steps I should take?

Thanks in advance for any replies!
