So I just put my new tiger Oscar in my 55 gallon tank today! Come to find out an hour later, my tank has columnaris, white cloudy stuff forming on fin. I've ordered furan-2 off amazon but it is supposed to arrive on the 17th, next week. I had one packet of furan2 left over from my 20 gallon and put it in my 55 in an attempt to hopefully slow down the spread. What should I do to suppress the columnaris until my furan2 arrives?

Gradually reduce the temps into the low 70's and gradually increase the salinity to .1% (approximately 1 level tsp/g, predissolved in treated water and added slowly over 24-48hr period of time). Make sure the water is pristine.
