Came home today to find my female swordtail stuck in one of my crypts fighting to get out. When she did get out she swam in corkscrew for about two minutes before resting on the gravel. When resting on the gravel my male swordtail began nipping at her body/fins for less than a minute.

She is now swimming somewhat normally up at the surface. Not gasping for air, but not leaving the surface.

Any ideas what might be wrong? Is she sick/dying or was she just messed up after being stuck in a plant?

Hmmmmm i not really sure but maybe shes just scared nd needs to settledown

Just checked again, she's likely not doin that good.

She swims up to the surface then just sinks back down to the gravel and repeats.

I've had her less than a week, bought her and the male together. He seems to be fine, as do the rest of the fish.

Well idk i guess you could call your fish store nd ask if theyd exchange her for another.
