One of my Danios tail has been crooked for probably the last 2 weeks, there was a slight discoloration around the area too, this morning it was at the surface barely able to swim so I just made the decision to put him down. None of the other danio in the school (7 more) have this problem, does anyone know what it could be and if it is contagious?

There are three major causes of spinal deformities with fish: congenital issues, vitamin deficiencies, and TB. The first can easily be ruled out, and the second can usually be ruled out by a high quality and varied diet.

Some of the signs of fish TB beyond spinal deformation are skin lesions and lethargy. Keep an eye out for those and take precautions if necessary.
