flashing?

One of my platys is trying to scrape himself on an aquarium ornament rapidly over and over. I think that's called flashing right? What is the cause of that and what can I do about it?

Could be a number of things. Most likely Ick or Columnaris Imo. Check them for any signs of white spots or marks and look them up online. I just went through some bad Ick myself and flashing was the first sign I noticed.

One of my moms glofish were flashing.... but it also swims with this desperate wave action........ I think it went crazy.....
