Hi can anyone help. I have 5 golden barbs in a 300 litre tank with some roseline sharks, pakistani loaches, swordtails, a rainbow shark and a bristlenose pleco. They are all full grown and seem to get on ok when I'm watching them. But somehow only my golden barbs keep getting these cuts now and again. I've had to isolate one as his cut is so bad I'm letting him heal in a small tank I have set up. Out of the fish in the tank who would be the most likely cause of these injuries? My guess is the Loaches. Botia variety Loaches can be very aggressive and often times will kill tankmates. I keep Y. Modesta & Berdmorei Botia Loaches in with my extremely aggressive African Cichlids. The Botias easily hold their own.

They are very active but I have never even seen them even pay any intrest to over fish
